Privacy policy

HungryAI LLC ("we", "our", "us") values your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. The first part of this policy covers the HungryAI learning platform. If you are here about one of our mobile apps, see privacy for our other products further down. The closing sections apply to everything we make.
The HungryAI learning platform
This part applies to hungryai.com and the learning workspace you sign in to there, used by organization learners, schools and institutions.
Information you give us
When HungryAI provisions your organization account, we store your email address and the name on your account. Public account registration is unavailable. Organization accounts use email and password; Google sign-in is reserved for the platform owner. Your organization provides your access instructions.
When you submit a contact form, request a demo or sign up for email updates, we collect what that form asks for: your name, email address, and where relevant your organization, job title, phone number, who you are enquiring for, and your message.
Information created as you learn
The platform records your activity so you and your institution can see progress. That includes which lessons you have opened, the answers and prompts you submit to challenges, your scores and attempts, and when you were last active.
How automated feedback works
Some challenges are scored by a language model rather than a fixed answer key. When you submit one of these, your written response is sent to OpenAI along with the exercise text so it can return a score and written feedback. Your response is treated as material to assess, not as instructions to follow.
Write your practice responses using general or invented examples. Do not include personal information about other people, patient or student records, or anything your organization treats as confidential.
If your account comes from a school or employer
When an institution invites you, that institution administers your account. Its staff and administrators can see your progress, scores and submitted work, and can produce reports on training activity. Questions about how your institution uses those reports are best directed to the institution.
Analytics and cookies
We ask before we measure. On your first visit we show a banner offering Google Analytics, and until you accept, no analytics cookies are written. If you accept, Google Analytics records which pages you view, an approximate location derived from your IP address, and general device and browser information, so we can see which pages actually help people learn. If you decline, the whole site keeps working exactly as before.
We run no advertising or social media pixels on this website, and we do not use analytics to build advertising profiles of learners or to personalize ads. Analytics data is not linked to your learning account, so your lesson and challenge activity is never joined to your analytics record.
Cookies that are strictly necessary — the ones that keep you signed in, protect the site against abuse, and remember the cookie choice you made — are always set, because the site cannot function without them.
You can change your mind at any time, and withdrawing consent deletes the analytics cookies already in your browser:
The platform also stores your sign-in session in your browser so that you stay signed in between visits. Clearing your browser storage signs you out.
How we use this information

- To generate feedback, scores and institutional training reports.
- To answer your enquiries and demo requests.
- To send email updates when you have asked for them.
- To keep the service secure, diagnose faults and improve the product.
Privacy for our other products
Pick My Plate, Flourish, PromptIQ, and other HungryAI products. Paragraphs naming a specific app apply only to that app.
These are mobile applications published by HungryAI LLC. Where an app offers sign-in, we store your email address and display name. If the app offers sign-in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email address from that provider instead of a password; if you use Sign in with Apple and choose to hide your address, we receive a private relay address rather than your real one. We also keep any feedback or messages you send us from inside an app.
Our apps collect device information such as device type, operating system and app version, usage data covering which features you use, and analytics data used to understand performance and improve the app.
Pick My Plate
Stores the dietary information you choose to provide, including allergies, restrictions and food preferences, so it can analyse menu items and personalise its suggestions.
Flourish
Stores your garden and plant records, including plant information, watering schedules and growth progress, so they can sync across your devices.
PromptIQ
Records your gameplay: the prompts and answers you submit, your scores, attempts and progress. You can play as a guest without an account, in which case that activity stays on your device until you choose to create an account, at which point it can be linked to it. As on the learning platform, written answers in some exercises are sent to OpenAI to be scored and returned with feedback.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, we store a push token for your device so we can send reminders and updates. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings, which stops delivery.
Advertising measurement
PromptIQ measures whether our advertising works, using Apple's SKAdNetwork together with the Meta SDK. SKAdNetwork reports results to us in aggregate: it can tell us that installs followed a campaign without identifying you. The app does not ask for access to your device's advertising identifier and does not track you across other companies' apps and websites, which is why you are never shown Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt.
The app does send Meta a record of certain in-app events so that campaign performance can be measured, including first launch, signing in, completing registration, starting or finishing a game, and submitting a prompt. While you are signed in those events carry your account identifier, which is a random string rather than your name or email address.

Who else processes your data
We rely on a small number of providers: Google Firebase for sign-in, database storage and analytics; Vercel for website hosting; Render for our application programming interface; OpenAI for automated feedback on written exercises; SendGrid for sending email; Expo for delivering push notifications; and Meta for advertising measurement in PromptIQ. Each processes data on our behalf under its own terms.
We may also disclose information when required by law or legal process, or to protect the rights, safety or property of our users or the company. We do not sell personal information.
Email updates
We send learning news and updates only to people who have asked for them. To stop receiving them, reply to any update with the word unsubscribe, or write to us at the address below. Replies to your enquiries are separate from marketing email and are sent whether or not you opt in.
Storage, security and retention
Your data is held with the cloud providers named above, and we use the access controls and encryption in transit those services provide. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We keep account and activity records while your account is active, because progress and history are what make our products useful. Enquiries and demo requests are kept as long as we need them to respond and keep our own records. When an account is closed, or an institution ends its use of the learning platform, the associated records are deleted or anonymised.
Your rights and choices
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or withdraw your consent where consent is the basis we rely on. If your account was created by a school or employer, we may need to route your request through that institution. Contact us at info@hungryai.com and we will respond.
Children's privacy
Our apps are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Classroom use of the learning platform is arranged through a school, and the school decides which pupils take part and on what basis. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information directly, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information we will update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes affecting existing users will be communicated by email or in the product.
